1.
All I Needed 04:07
They hanged the man Who killed the thief Who robbed the store Which sold belief In isolation I took the keys Out of the car And drove you home And the sky turned black Much too soon All I needed was...
2.
Gonna take my coat Gonna take my hat Gonna leave this house Just like that And make my way down to the station How long has the train been gone? How long has the train been gone? Gonna leave this food On your plate And pack my bag ‘Cos I can’t wait And find myself some occupation Step by step Gonna make my way ‘Cos I can’t live with what you say
3.
The boy I love Took my car And he’s never coming back He packed his bags On a rainy night Went in search of oblivion And I must admit I like it Strange way to get my thrills Life is better than watching films If you see Him on the screen Please don’t tell him Where I’ve gone I’d rather live like a silver note From a stolen saxophone And I sit here In this cafe With my books and cigarettes Looking like the actors I’m trying to forget
4.
I bought my lover tranquilizers She said she couldn’t sleep While I was screaming But she took off her hat and coat And pulled the windows open wide Into the night And then she lay down La la la lay down Oh yes she lay down with me again I bought my lover tranquiliers She said she couldn’t speak While I was dreaming But the words got stuck in my throat And her tears went floating by Pallid and dry And when she turned around Her face was like the sun Yes when she turned around The night was almost gone
5.
Blue Bird 04:21
If you look If you look into the dark If you look If you look into the night I will be I will be your dancer And we will be like blue birds Blue birds If you fall If you fall into the sky If you turn If you turn into the grey I will be I will be your dancer I will see the end
6.
Same day Changing our things Same Day Washing the sky from our wings Mosaics on the bathroom floor Mediterranean breeze Filming the war Same time Looking at sand Same time Panning the lens over land Rewrite the scriptures Heroes are shown Learning to walk on their knees Filming the war Cold eyes Waiting for rain Steel lines Dragging the dead over plains News from the mountains Cameras are set To focus on hope and disease Filming the war
7.
Sorrow Bird 04:14
I live by the shadows Stretch out my hand Against a wall And then I ‘light Across the water To follow The sorrow bird Spreads her wings tonight Turns around in flight To haunt me once again The sorrow bird Sees her victims fall Turns around to call and Taunt me once again The stones in the river Draw words in the sand Sometimes a name It sparkles bright I reach and follow
8.
Walk 03:41
When you’re asleep With colours around A fearful silence Nothing belongs What do you really see ? You turn around and say to me Walk, Walk, Walk into another world Your thoughts start to move Like fingers on skin Nobody waits There’s something to bring What do you really see? You turn around and say to me Walk
9.
Daffodils 03:57
Undergound Over hills There beyond the daffodils I call you And like the virgin and the thief We’d sell our souls to get relief From darkness and its wonders And never drag you under And though the guns and all the trade Have blown apart all that we’ve made We’ll get together in the end
10.
Like a Star 08:22
You talk like an angel In your sleep Keep your secret under pillows I could lie awake all night Waiting for you To say something new I picked up the wrong pen In your car Never knew that it was empty You could find a parking place There in your head Repeat what you’ve said Like a star Take this coat of sleep away From my door We’ve stood here a thousand times A thousand stars before

about

Tranquilizers UK

Tranquilizers are a London based collective of musicians simply writing music that we, and we hope others, find interesting, challenging (in a good way), stirring and sometimes painful to listen to. We all have eclectic listening habits and this contributes largely to the way we approach making music.

We hope you like what you hear!
